NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2008 RUNS OUT NEXT MONTH. RENEW OR GET ANOTHER KIND?
Now I undergo what AOL McAfee can do because I hit it on my desktop, but they won’t substance it after September. But Norton came with my laptop. But I would same to try added “free” one if I don’t restore Norton.
I undergo Avira has one of the maximal spotting rates, but it doesn’t become with anti-spyware or a firewall. I’ve heard Avast is good, but doesn’t hit an adware remover. AND I WILL NOT USE AVG! NO!
So, should I go with Avira + Comodo Firewall + anti spyware code (Super antispyware & Spyware Doctor)
or meet intend Comodo cyberspace Security?
That’s if I don’t restore Norton. And yes, Norton 2008 and 2009 don’t andante the machine same preceding ones did.

You can protect your computer very well with free programs. The best way is to use a combination of anti virus and anti spyware programs
Anti virus and firewall prohttp://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/d…
orhttp://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht…
in combination withhttp://www.pctools.com/firewall/
Spywareblasterhttp://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb…
Threatfire is an anti virus, that can be installed next to any other anti virus program on the same computerhttp://www.threatfire.com/
This is a very good program, that completely runs in the backgroundhttp://www.comodo.com/boclean/boclean.ht…
Anti spywarehttp://www.spywareterminator.com/http://en.kioskea.net/telecharger/telech…http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Spy…
Installing these programs, will not use any extra RAM or CPU usage.
I have avast right now. If you want to continually hear alarms go off and a voice come on the computer saying WARNING WARNING A VIRUS HAS BEEN DETECTED…go ahead and sign on. Personally I am feeling everyday like I am in an old episode of LOST IN SPACE and had to check my own drivers license to make sure my name is not Penny Robinson (you would get this if you were older)
AVG: http://grisoft.com
Free and best AV out there, in many peoples opinion. Never got a virus get by me.
Ad-Aware: http://lavasoft.com
Free antivirus/antimalware application
We have used Norton for two or three years and are very satisfied with them.
If you have a fast pc, I suggest you buy Kaspersy 2009. Works better than any other. Or trend Micro Internet security

Ad-Aware: http://lavasoft.com

I use both at work and at home. Never did me wrong.
Either switch to AVG (free or paid) or Avast!. They both work very well. Avast!’s interface can be configured for the more technically inclined but if you’re just a simple computer user, then AVG would work for you.
avast
The BEST antivirus program that i’ve ever had is Avast. I would SERIOUSLY recommend it as it doesn’t slow your computer down and works WAY better than any other program out there. Avast is free and can be downloaded from Avast.com.
I would like to know the same thing lol! Mine expires in 6 days! I guess I’ll have to see how expensive it is – and read the answers to this q!
If you have written AVG, even my answer will be NO NO NO as its a software that first collects all the viruses from the internet and then scans it. It does a R&D on users computer. I will not recommend you to even use the Avast as it depends on its mood nor the Norton internet security 2009. The NOrton internet security 2008 is the BEST. It doesnt makes the computer slow like the older versions of Norton and is a very good security software. Also you dont need to renew this program. If you are a techy, you can use this software for another one year by just doing some basic manipulation in it and your Norton 2008 will show 1 year remaining
Do you want a secure computer, or do you want to run “security” software? The two aren’t the same.
Good security requires a multi-layered approach, and the least important layer by far is running some kind of anti-malware program (in fact, if you take care of all the other layers, you don’t even need an anti-malware program using up extra resources).
In order of importance:
1. Create and use almost exclusively a limited user account instead of the default administrator account Windows sets you up with
2. Read up on social engineering and how to avoid it
3. Don’t download illegal copies of software, music, or movies
4. Set Windows updates to install automatically
5. Make regular backups. If possible, back up your entire installation (using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image)
37. Run antivirus software
Norton Internet Security 2009 is even lighter than 2008. The scan are faster. In fact it is has a few thing that 2008 don’t have. If you have a few day left on your license why not download 2009 and give it a try. Make sure you uninstall 2008 before installing 2009. Avira, Comodo firewall, and a anti-spyware program are a good combo. But will use more ram than Norton. Comodo by itself will use more than Norton. If you don’t want to pay for protection anymore. Give Avira, Comodo Firewall. A try. Just remember Avira high detection rates you see in av test are for the paid version not the free version. You can get good protection for free. It will not be quite as good as the paid versions. I used the free route for a few years. I was always malware free. But I like only having to deal with one program for my security needs. Plus Norton’s firewall is a big plus. It does not need user help. If you go with Comodo you will see what I mean. Good luck
